The Misty Mountains Homestead Instant Hotel Where Rainforest & Reef Collide

“Finally we’re here in tropical North Queensland” – episode 4 of Instant Hotel 2019 is officially live!

This week on Channel 7’s Instant Hotel all the contestants visited our Instant Hotel, a rainforest hideaway located in Bellenden Ker, Queensland, Australia. Just a 1 hour scenic drive from Cairns International Airport.

“Welcome to drastic world!”

The best way to describe our Instant Hotel, The Misty Mountains would be an, “Eco-friendly property, it’s like a nature’s playground , it’s a wonderland.”

Gene: “In our Instant Hotel, it is 50 shades of green, we have no rules, and clothes are optional. Think about it, there’s no washing!”

This private rainforest retreat, The Misty Mountains Homestead Instant Hotel sets you back $990 per night. With 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms it comfortably sleeps a total of 9 people. Plus, you can’t forget you have access to 200 acres of ancient rainforest and the modern luxuries of a private glass-bar nightclub.

Everyone as a whole thought it was great value for money, which was reassuring. Yes it might be a little more expensive for a couple to book. But as Razz said, “If you came here as a family or as a group then it’s very affordable.” 

Leah “It’s been the most expensive Instant Hotel we have stayed at, but so worth it.

Jay: “Yeah worth every cent!”

Everyone enjoyed the activities within The Misty Mountains, especially the electric golf buddies, Gene’s fountain of youth and the private glass-bar nightclub.

Gene and Sharon, “What happens in the nightclub, stays in the nightclub.”

We were extremely happy with all the compliments we received overall. 

Jay and Leah, “Your Instant Hotel is a perfect, delicious rainforest haven. It’s everything we could have asked for, being surrounded by nature and animals made the experience for us, pretty much perfect.

Gene said, “Jay and Leah – We love you!”

Debbie and Justin, “Gene and Sharon your house and property is truly special and your attention to detail is second to none. We can’t complain, we had a really good time.”

Expert Judges:

Juliet Ashworth: 7/10 – “From a hospitality point of view I thought the beds were beautiful and really looked the part. The kitchen looked like a ‘cooks kitchen’ and a lovely entertaining space. Your living space I would like a little more cozy. I have had some transcendent moments wondering through your endlessly beautiful backyard. I think people will be just as ecstatic about the external environment.”

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen: 7/10 – “I felt like I was walking into a wall of Gene and Sharon, which personally I thought was absolutely wonderful. It’s high speck – $990 is very reasonable. If you like the idea of ‘Rock & Roll’ in the garden on Eden than this is absolutely the place for you. I loved, loved, loved the kinkiness, extraordinary, rock and roll iconic experience.”

Overall the score of 39/50 now places us at the top of the leader board going into the final.

As Gene put it so eloquently: “Forget the rest – we will be the best.”
